Playthough de la versión inglesa de Prey, sin comentarios de voz. Prey es un shooter en primera persona creado por Human Head Studios y publicado en 2006, es la versión definitiva de una idea de 3DRealms que llevaba casi 10 años en el tintero. Su firma es el arte muy alienígena y el uso de portales (1 año antes que Portal!) y mini puzzles con cambios de gravedad implicados. Juegas como domasi, un indio americano que sueña con salir de su reserva y renegar de sus raíces que es abducido por una raza alienígena que busca cosechar toda la vida de la Tierra.

Llevaba tiempo queriendo jugarlo de nuevo, y el anuncio del nuevo ""Prey"" (a pesar de no tener nada que ver con esto) fue el empujoncito que necesitaba. ¿Adivinad qué? Me ha gustado tanto como la primera vez. Tan raro como siempre, el gameplay tan ajustado como siempre, y justo cuando los puzzles de gravedad y portales empiezan a aburrir, el juego se ha terminado y ha dejado buen sabor de boca. Incluso con la dificultad variable, el juego me ha parecido muy fácil, solo que al final los bichos pegaban como camiones (Imagino que es porque prácticamente no me mataron casi nunca en los 3/4 iniciales del juego). Méritos para Human Head, ya que no tuve que hacer nada para que funcionase a la perfección, solamente poner la resolución 'custom' en la consola de comandos (incluso el FoV parecía estar bien!, aunque lo subí un poquillo nada más), y los tiempos de carga bien (no como Quake IV, que te eterniza independientemente del hardware que uses).

Prey is a first person shooter created by Human Head Studios in 2006, it is de definitive version of an idea from 3DRealms that had been in development hell for almost 10 years, its staple is the alien art and the use of portals (1 year before Portal!) and gravity-changing mini puzzles. You play as Domasi, an indian looking forward to leave the reservation which is abducted by a alien force that seeks to harvest all life in Earth.

I had been looking forward to replay this game for some time, and the announcement of the new ""Prey"" game (despite having nothing to do with this) was just the push I needed. Guess what? I enjoyed it as much as the first time. It was as weird as ever, the gameplay as tight as ever, and just when te gravity and portal puzzles begin to feel old... the game is already over and you had a blast. Even with the dynamic difficulty system it felt very easy, with the added nuisance that by the end of the game the monsters hit like truck (I guess because I died very few times within the first 3/4s of the game). Kudos for Human Head Studios, as I didn't have to do to get it working, just manually set resolution in the console (the FoV felt just right, though I upped it a bit), and the load times are just fine (unlike Quake IV, which took loooong to load even in today's hardware).
